Operational Logistics Data Expert 

 
   
   

PURPOSE

 

The Operational Logistics Data Expert is the key source for the overarching data management in the logistics area. There are two main purposes of the role:

  • Setup and management of the data management governance model
  • Management of operational logistics data (e.g. setup of lanes, packaging master data, AUoM)

The Operational Logistics Data Expert will work closely together with the Business Requirement Specialist Community in case of launches, the operational teams as well as the more technical and performance management oriented functions from GWT (e.g. GPO, Logistics Analyst) to ensure the right accuracy of the respective data areas and the appropriate management framework around it.

 

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES

 

  • Set up and maintenance of logistics data

Implement and maintain the required logistics data across the system landscape to enable the business operations for launches and new lanes – that is linked but not limited to shipping points, unloading points, routes, packaging data, Alternative Unit of Measure etc.

It includes the management of SAP related data but also the management of data linked to our logistics platform AX4.

 

  • Support and access management for logistics platform

Definition and maintenance of user rights to ensure the correct rights for the different stakeholder groups. The access management will be executed for internal and external users and includes the provision of user access, individual access rights, initial AX4 overview / training and support in case of questions from user community.

 

  • Maintenance of route data in logistics scope

Jointly cooperate with the Global Requirements Specialist community in the route update process. That includes the assessment and analysis of route adherence based on the route review dashboard as well as the preparation of the data as basis for the route update decision process. Furthermore, the operational data manager will execute the route update in collaboration with our IT service providers and ensure that all data is updated correctly in our IT systems.

 

  • Set up and maintenance of data management governance

Review of the existing data management framework and identification of improvement potentials. Implementation of identified enhancements in close alignment with relevant stakeholders. Ensure the right execution of data updates in cooperation with impacted functions.

 

  • Coordination with neighboring functions to ensure data consistency end-to-end

Connect with the relevant neighboring functions to enable an integration of the logistics data governance into the overall supply chain model. This will ensure that the respective data adjustments are always aligned and potential side effects in other areas are known and aligned upfront.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • Master degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering or similar.
  • Working experience (2+ years) in logistics and supply chain, ideally close to operations.
  • Very good skills in communication.
  • Good understanding of SAP business processes.
  • Good understanding in SAP supply chain applications and business warehouse.
  • Experience in the work with external logistics platform (e.g. Siemens AX4).
  • Very good knowledge of advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Ideally good understanding of Bayer supply chain.
  • Ideally experience in the area of Master Data Management.
  • Language: English fluent; German is a plus.
