Senior Quality & Compliance Specialist 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Quality & Compliance Specialist, are to: 

 

  • Responsible for driving a quality, compliance, and continuous improvement culture at the site;
  • Partner with site leaders to develop, implement, and evaluate QMS program components;
  • Drive best-practice development and implementation across the site for QMS and compliance;
  • Responsible for change management and leadership with the QMS system;
  • Partner with the Breeding quality management and compliance teams to ensure site alignment with organizational goals and expectations at a site level;
  • Provide guidance and support to Site Responsible Researchers (SRRs) and ensure compliance with applicable regulated and stewarded products and procedures as well as external certifications and accreditations that pertain to the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), BRS (Biotechnology Regulatory Services) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency);
  • Responsible for supporting and facilitating internal and external audits, compliance training and documentation control activities;
  • Manage response to audit findings and regulatory reporting requirements to ensure compliance and transparency of our system;
  • Maintain a quality first culture rooted in continuous improvement by maintaining a robust quality system, including compliance at all levels of the operations;
  • Lead the Good Business Management (GBM) program and provide oversight of product quality and compliance across the site including lab, plant, and field processes;
  • Support operations by tracking and improving upon site key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement;
  • Provide support in monthly reviews communicating with all stakeholders, ensure regulatory requirements are met in all projects, ensure robust Quality systems;
  • Engage in continued development of self and area personnel with peer coaching and feedback.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • BS/BA with relevant previous production and/or relevant quality management systems experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes within the QMS system;
  • Demonstrated ability to use highly innovative approaches to solving problems and ability to work on numerous projects at the same time;
  • Demonstrated ability in solving problems while exhibiting situational judgement and realistic understanding of issues;
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly present information and influence others through written/oral communications;
  • Demonstrated ability to work and/or lead a in cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes;
  • Experience leading change and project management;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change by influence;
  • Experience with production systems and tools (KPI tracking, Six sigma, Lean, Agile methods);
  • Experience with data visualization software tools.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 5 years of experience in quality management or ISO systems;
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or Quality Management Systems;
  • General knowledge of breeding, crop production, farming practices, and seed processing technology.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $64,700 and $97,100. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors. 
 

Domestic relocation may be provided for this role.
