Partnership Activation Specialist 

 

Main Purpose:

 

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of smallholder farming partnership activities, in close collaboration with all relevant functions as well as private and public partnerships and stakeholders in Tanzania.
  • Lead and support the development of an alternate RTM (Route to Market) using partnerships.
  • Enhance market development activities and drive sustainability goals with relevant partners by addressing the ecosystem pain points.
  • Increase sales turnover through the above implementation and through strategic partnerships that speak to Africa’s business and sustainability goals

 

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

 

  • Working with the CFSs (Customer Facing Squads), drive business turnover in Tanzania by identifying ecosystem needs and addressing ecosystem gaps in prioritized value chain (maize seeds), while developing alternative route-to-market opportunities with farmer organizations, cooperatives, and other value chain players and stakeholders. 
  • Explore new partnership opportunities and support the implementation of new business models while exploring and evaluating new and innovative route-to-market strategies and platforms.
  • Identify potential partner and stakeholder relationships while supporting and strengthening strategic engagements based on defined KPIs.
  • Monitor the execution of key partnership deliverables and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the relevant Customer Facing and Unit Support Squads to develop and increase touch points within the ecosystem.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners, acting as their primary point of contact.
  • Determine and coordinate touchpoint plans to ensure smooth partnership operations.
  • Evaluate partnership activities periodically and coordinate with relevant teams for interventions where needed.  
  • Monitor & report on program performance.
  • Demonstrate the viability of projects through business modelling, including how they will improve farmers’ income and livelihood, as well as contribute additional turnover for the business.
  • Drive the digital transformation and adoption of relevant digital tools for SHF in close collaboration with other USSs and regional teams

Qualifications & Competencies:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, marketing, brand management, business administration, or related fields. 
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in marketing or sales – preferably in smallholder markets in Africa 
  • Experience in smallholder farmer engagement and strategy execution
  • Sound corporate business acumen, including strong relationship development skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams in the implementation of successful strategic business plans aligned to customer needs within the smallholder market
  • Ability to develop, foster, and utilize a broad base of networks at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to collaborate/communicate with and develop internal and external partnerships 
  • Highly motivated, creative, dynamic, and well organized                          
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Working understanding of local languages is an added advantage 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with associated deadlines for deliverable results.
  • Proven ability to influence effectively in a matrix organization and works well in teams.
  • Ability to drive change in a complex and stable organization without disrupting mutually aligned business processes to reach business targets.
