We are looking for a Global Process Excellence Leader – S2P Ordering who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Ordering - driving operational excellence, digital transformation and superior user experience across a global footprint.

Position Purpose

The Global Process Excellence Leader – S2P Ordering is responsible for leading a global team of process experts to drive end-to-end operational excellence, transformation and user experience across the Ordering lifecycle.

This role focuses on aligning people, processes, and technology to deliver Bayer’s “Easy Buy, Easy Pay” vision, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and continuous improvement through quality control, knowledge management and advanced analytics.

As a strategic leader, you will build a future-ready capability, enabling standardization, automation, and measurable performance outcomes across the S2P value chain while fostering a high-performance, collaborative and psychologically safe culture.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities

1. People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global team of Process Experts across multiple centres
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, accountability, and performance
  • Drive talent development, coaching, and succession planning to build future leaders
  • Create psychological safety and engagement, enabling open feedback and innovation
  • Align global teams under a common vision, priorities, and standardized ways of working

2. Operational Excellence & Delivery

  • Drive high-quality output with a target accuracy of 98%+ while meeting SLAs
  • Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Root Cause Analysis to improve quality
  • Develop and govern a robust Knowledge Management framework
  • Perform risk assessments and strengthen process controls to ensure compliance
  • Partner with stakeholders across S2P to resolve operational challenges and improve process flow
  • Lead monthly performance reviews, dashboards, and reporting to drive data-based decisions

3. Process Excellence & Transformation

  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including automation, touchless processing, and AI integration
  • Apply Lean and Agile methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times
  • Lead global standardization efforts across systems (SAP, Ariba, SmartBuy, ServiceNow)
  • Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies through end-to-end process optimization
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to simplify and streamline procurement workflows

 

4. Governance, Compliance & Audit Readiness

  • Maintain a strong process governance and control framework aligned with procurement policies
  • Ensure documentation, SOPs, and audit trails are current and compliant
  • Drive BCP readiness and audit preparedness across the Ordering organization
  • Represent Ordering in internal/external audits and leadership governance forums

5. User Experience (UX) & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion user-centric design by embedding UX metrics into operational KPIs
  • Collaborate with UX CoPs to capture feedback and drive simplification and usability improvements
  • Identify trends from user feedback, escalations, and performance data to enhance experience and efficiency

6. Digitalization & Analytics

  • Leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve decision-making and reduce manual effort
  • Build data-driven insights to monitor performance, identify risks, and drive improvements
  • Promote digital adoption and capability building within the team

Key Working Relationships

  • Internal: S2P clusters, Procurement teams, Country Partners, Content Management, Data Analytics, UX CoP
  • External: Business users, stakeholders, suppliers (as required)

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in Source-to-Pay or Procurement Operations with 11+ years of leadership experience, managing large, global, and cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record in driving transformation, automation, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global and virtual environment
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
  • Digital fluency, with working knowledge of AI and automation tools
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning
