Pipeline Planner 

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

 

This role is responsible for supporting Breeding Product Units by planning breeding, seed production and testing activities, tracking of execution of plans and driving collection of pipeline data. This position will be collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of breeders, breeding specialists, breeding operations, data scientists, and testing research associates to deliver creative solutions to optimize and accelerate pipeline delivery.   

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    • Effective collaboration with Breeders and Site Operations, responsible for successful planning and execution in weekly, monthly and yearly planning, organization and execution to generate needed crossing blocks and drive timely delivery of seed to trials.  
    • Together with Seed Generation and Phenotyping teams, ensure successful planning and the most accurate prioritization in the day-to-day operations. 
    • Translate collaborative breeding strategy into operational excellence and ensure execution of those plans through trial preparation in collaboration with breeders, breeding operations and testing teams. 
    • Track operational progress and drive implementation of mitigating solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders as needed. 
    • Advise and be a consultant to build data pipelines and tools for extraction, curation and management of genomic, phenotypic and pipeline data. 
    • Leverage metrics applications and quality control processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency and expanded improvements.  
    • Collaborate to build dashboards and metrics for important pipeline and planning metrics. 
    • Proactively identify opportunities to assist in improving procedures and lead troubleshooting activities through root cause analysis and continuous improvement. 
    • Ensure that team members follow all applicable local and Bayer Internal policies and programs including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Compliance protocols, and business conduct protocols.

Plant Breeding Teams & Product Units, Field Testing & Operations Teams, Quality/Compliance, Laboratory Teams, Innovation Teams, Commercial Teams, Finance, Data Science & Engineering Teams, Crop Science Planning Teams, Product Supply Teams, Industry Partners & Research Collaborators.  

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

    • Education: B. S in Plant Breeding, Agronomy, Computer Science, Data Science or Logistics / Supply Chain Management or related field with 5 years’ relevant experience.  Master’s degree preferred.   
    • Advanced digital acumen. 
    • Basic coding, data analytics and AI proficiency. 
    • Ability to perform successfully in a fast paced, dynamic, team-based environment. With multiple projects and priorities. 
    • Capacity to communicate and work effectively across multiple synergistic teams and levels in a multi-cultural organization.  
    • Strong strategic and analytical skills with an understanding of how to apply them to achieve business results.
