Sample Logistics Expert 

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

 

The main purpose of this role is to manage the distribution of R&D CP samples for various purposes, including field trials. Additionally, it involves overseeing logistics and operational aspects, driving transformational changes, and managing cross-functional teams to support R&D both in ASIA and globally.

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develops and implements efficient global and regional sample logistics processes and operational workflows to enhance and support sample distribution in the Region ASIA.
  • Ensures compliance of sample logistics processes and material data with national and international laws, as well as Bayer standards.
  • Responsible for substance classification in Sample Logistics in regular consultation with regional and global peers.
  • Supports global transformation initiatives to drive regional organizational change in line with strategic targets, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in the Region ASIA.
  • Continuously analyses the regional ASIA sample inventory to ensure only the highest quality samples are provided for use in research programs.
  • Participating in data management, analysis, and reporting activities, including maintaining appropriate records, system applications (SAP, Velocity, SAIFTY), and process integration in ASIA.
  • Testing and training coordination, execute testing and training initiatives for the implementation of new functionalities and processes within ASIA and Global R&D.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

  • B.Sc. in biology or chemistry plus 5/+years relevant experience; or a Diploma in related science-based field with 5/+years relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in logistics, including handling, packaging, inventory management, and shipping of biological or chemical materials, is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of product chemistry and expertise in dangerous goods regulations and related classification of chemical materials including GHS.
  • Hazardous Materials Information: Transportation of Dangerous Goods (e. g. IATA, 49CFR, ADR, ANTT), training and certification.
  • Experience with inventory control processes using software management applications (e.g., SAP).
  • Strong understanding of digital tools, operational efficiencies, and implementation of new innovations.
  • Ability to master ongoing changes covering complex technical details and problem solving.
  • Proactive in staying current with regional regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, precisely, and actionably to diverse teams at all organizational levels.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
