Senior Cyber Security Engineer 

POSITION PURPOSE:

Bayer Radiology R&D is currently seeing a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to enhance, maintain its connectivity cloud based SaMD solutions. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in offensive and defensive security, cloud security, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into every layer of the product lifecycle. The SME ensures that platform’s initiatives, programs, and solutions are aligned with the evolving needs of the increased cyber security needs and development lifecycle, enhancing the organization’s ability to bring diagnostic answers for patients.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement security controls across cloud, data, and endpoint environments
• Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and ethical hacking exercises
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis
• Stay current with cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies
• Support compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards
• Mentor junior security engineers and promote secure development practices
• Participate in agile sprints and product planning activities

WHO YOU ARE:

Key Skills

• Cloud Security: Google Cloud Platform (preferred) and at least one of AWS or Azure
• Endpoint & Data Security: Encryption, DLP, secure data handling
• Offensive Security: Penetration testing, ethical hacking, vulnerability scanning
• Defensive Security: Threat detection, incident response, SIEM tools
• Security Standards & Compliance: ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, HIPAA, GDPR
• Security Tools: SAST/DAST, identity management, threat modeling platforms
• DevSecOps Integration: CI/CD security, container security, IaC validation
• Monitoring & Logging: ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana
• Agile & Collaboration: Jira, Confluence, Scrum practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles
• Experience with GCP (preferred) and either AWS or Azure
• Proven track record in implementing security measures in cloud-native environments
• Familiarity with healthcare or regulated domains is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
