Position Purpose:- Lead the global Source‑to‑Pay (S2P) Sourcing Support organization across multiple centers, accountable for delivering end‑to‑end sourcing execution that translates global category strategy into consistent, cost‑efficient, high‑quality procurement outcomes. You will own supply‑base evaluation, sourcing enablement, contract price governance and system content integrity to ensure timely fulfilment against business priorities while mitigating supply risk. As a strategic leader, you will build a future‑ready, cross‑location capability — driving continuous improvement, digital adoption and measurable efficiency gains — while coaching and developing talent in a psychologically safe, high‑performance culture. Partner closely with Procurement, business stakeholders and suppliers to align priorities, capture value, and embed governance and KPIs that demonstrate clear business impact.

Key Working Relations: 

  • Procurement internal: 
  • Procurement Enablement, Category Managers, Regional Managers, Related Communities of Practice 
  • GBS Source to Pay – Ordering, Content Management, Country Partners
  • Procurement external: Budget Owners, Users & Business stakeholders,
  • Bayer external: Key, as well as selected base suppliers  

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing Support
  • Own end to end delivery: Accountable for flawless execution of Sourcing Support operations (price updates, PR approvals, system content, query resolution) against SLAs and quality targets.
  • Govern transitions & knowledge: Enforce standardized handovers, training and a single knowledge repository to ensure continuity, reduce ramp up time and minimize errors.
  • Proactively orchestrate stakeholders: Maintain structured alignment with Category, Suppliers and Business users and ensure value proposition
  • Standardize process controls: Maintain clear, versioned process documentation and exception rules as the single source of truth for operations and auditability.
  • Drive cross functional improvements: Identify root cause process gaps and co lead prioritized remediation with COE & GPO to remove frictions
  • Own the Easy Buy transformation roadmap: Prioritize automation, system integration and measurable efficiency gains, delivered in 90 day cycles with defined outcomes

 

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Supplier Management 
  • Understands business needs and engages with global/regional and local stakeholders to meet their priorities and requirements 
  • Defines the Procurement value add for the business stakeholder community and provides Procurement procedural know-how, guidance, and governance 
  • Provides country-specific market intelligence to mitigate supply risk, gain competitive advantage, and make better business decisions 
  • Manage Supplier interactions as per agrees procedures

 

  • Team Engagement and Development
  • Lead and align globally: Own and synchronise a cross center leadership network of Sourcing Support leads and Senior Experts to drive common standards, priorities and delivery across regions.
  • Design a global capability strategy: Build a role based development programme (workshops, mentoring, etc)to raise competency
  • Deploy a talent optimisation framework: Allocate work to match strengths and career goals, create IDP’s
  • Set and cascade strategic goals: Define a clear team vision in alignment with Procurement and GBS Source to Pay.
  • Create psychological safety by design: Mandate skip levels, regular pulse surveys and leader coaching; publish action plans and close feedback loops.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration with the global sourcing support & procurement teams

 

  • Focus on Digitalization & AI
  • Champion a strategic AI & digitalization roadmap: Lead the development and implementation of a global digitalization and AI roadmap for Sourcing Support that aligns with Procurement and business strategy, prioritizes high value opportunities, and defines clear timelines, owners and success metrics.
  • Build practical AI literacy and technology capability: Ensure the team attains role specific, handson competence with relevant AI and digital tools through targeted training and playbooks so members can apply technology confidently to day to day sourcing activities.

Skills and Qualifications:- 

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, engineering, or business management.

- Extensive experience in procurement, sourcing methodologies, and process optimization.

- At least 10-15 years in leadership roles (team lead, cluster lead, or operations manager equivalent), with a proven track record in leading large, complex teams and transformation projects.

- Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, influencing, and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a global and virtual environment.

- Strategic mindset, financial acumen, and analytical decision-making skills.

- Strong market understanding and professional network.

- Digital fluency and working knowledge of AI.

- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
