Testing & Innovation Manager 

POSITION PURPOSE

Testing & Innovation Manager is responsible for Testing of pre- commercial phases in Karnataka,

product pipeline of Vegetable R&D at respective testing location and driving trial digitization, trial optimization, improving testing footprint as per bio zone, data management, implementation of advance workflow, imagery plot research, and implementing tools to analyze data.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate with Breeders/stakeholders, plan & execute all Pre- commercial (SC1, PCM-1, PCM-2 and PCM-3) hybrid testing trials using scientific experimental designs both at site or off site territories.
• Ensure precise data collection using enterprise digital tools like Velocity, Compass. Ensure to analyze trial data & clear interpretation of the results along with recommendations on product advancement.
• Responsible for the implementation of unique and innovative technology solutions designed to improve trial design and operations success through the use of new tools and methodologies to improve trial management.
• Performing all tasks and behaving in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety related company policies and practices, including completing all required Company training courses and attending safety activity.
• Drive efficient data management, develop and implement advanced workflow, imagery plot research and equipment concepts to drive efficiency and effectiveness in field testing and other areas within the company where applicable.
• Collaborate with a regional and global Phenotyping & Seed Generation and cross-functional team focused on translating data management, innovative ideas related to improving plant reproductivity into conceptual designs, prototypes, proposals and help implement projects at trialing locations;
• Drive new technology related to precision Phenotyping, Robo Farmer and other strategies that accelerate genetic gain and can be implemented at the field;
• Deployment of tools and software for data management, and statistical testing analysis. Provide effective training and guidance to implement best practices.
• Support Breeding and Phenotyping teams to improve data quality and completeness as it relates to QA/QC, plot designs, testing location information.
• Work with testing teams to improve testing footprint as per Bio zones and data quality.
• Lead team development including coaching and mentoring
• Participate as member of regional management team and use problem solving skills to support the organization.
• Performing all tasks and behaving in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety related company policies and practices, including completing all required Company training courses and attending safety activity.
• Other relevant tasks assigned by reporting manager from time to time

• External Customers and Industry Partners and Research Collaborators

WHO YOU ARE:

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Plant Breeding, Engineering or a related field with 7 years of field working experience preferably Product Testing
• Experience analyzing and presenting complex data with proven problem solving abilities.
• Good level of field Agronomy knowledge to be able to drive geography level decision making based on data.
• Strong teamwork, influencing, and organizational skills to interact with regional team members as well as Global teams, communicating
• complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated abilities to collaborate, develop project plans, analyze and interpret data. Manages multiple projects and priorities
• Capacity to communicate and work effectively with all management levels in a multi-cultural organization.
• Strong strategic, statistical and analytical skills and understanding of how to apply them to achieve business results.
• General Job requirements: 20% travel, 60 % field work, 20% computer work
