Sr. Medical Science Liaison

Major Tasks 

• Exchange and dissemination of scientific, educational, and research-related information: Senior MSL plans, prepares and engages with TLs (Thought Leader) as an information scientist and colleague both proactively and reactively via various innovative TL engagements tactics and formats to provide dissemination, clarification and education of scientific data, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature (Both proactive discussions on-label scientifically, and reactive discussions for unsolicited off-label questions in alignment with local regulations.
• Interactions with Medical Societies and Advisory Boards: Senior MSL answers medical / scientific queries of Medical Societies ordoctors with regards to specific therapeutic products and organizing / supporting / participating in advisory boards.
• Participate in networking activites at congresses and conventions: Senior MSL uses congresses and conventions to network with TLs, establish new contacts, and gather competitive intelligence.
• Coordination of Scientific Education Activities: Senior MSL is responsible and accountable for leading implementation of projects, symposia and important meetings (incl. assisting global or regional teams) to engage TLs, e.g. by determining the market strategy, identifying key TLs to invite and reviewing content for presentation.
• Preparing reports and tracking activities: Senior MSL submits timely reports of field and event and tracking activities against agreed objectives.
• Collecting IIR ideas and facilitating IIR set-up: Senior MSL acts as a point of contact for investigators, facilitating the interface with investigators and responsible for approval, and communication of study progress and completion.
• TL Identification / profiling / segmentation and strategy and engagement planning: In alignment with product Medical Affairs plan, senior MSL contributes to internal understanding of specific TL interests, expertise and impact in the medical community at large.
• Internal scientific support: Senior MSL serves as internal scientific expert by selective support to training activities in addition to answering scientific / medical queries by the Sales Representatives (in conjunction with / as a supporting element to Medical Advisors).
• Investigator Sponsored Studies: Senior MSL provides additional support (as required) to assist local clinical operations personnel / Medical Advisors with respect to IIR project tracking.
• Responsible and Accountable as MSL mentor and peer coach, including for another country or across the region.
• Responsible for secondary support to Medical Advisor and poised for development into either role.

Skills & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacology or medicine. Advanced degree in science-related field eg. MD, PharmD, PhD preferred.
• At least 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry as an MSL. Preferred experience in ophthalmology.
• Can learn fast and apply learnings to drive innovation.
• Participated in a project frominception to conclusion.
• Can translate clinical data and insights to meaningful information for HCPs and their patients.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to build productive work-relation. 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
