Global Clinical Project Lead m/f/d 

 

As a Global Clinical Project Lead (GCPL), you will serve as the clinical program lead for assigned strategic asset-related projects and strategic programs to maximize Clinical Development & Operations (CD&O) effectiveness. You will strategically plan and execute complex programs, emphasizing lean and efficient implementation to maximize impact. Your role will focus on aligning CD&O programs with customer and stakeholder needs early on, leading to improved integration with stakeholders such as Global Medical Affairs. You will work cross-functionally within CD&O, bringing strategic concepts and innovation to improve the setup of the CD&O organization and its processes. Additionally, you will closely collaborate with senior managers in CD&O and report to the Head of Clinical Data & Performance Excellence, interacting with key executive stakeholders across R&D and beyond. You will lead self-empowered matrix teams in alignment with Bayer’s VACC leadership standards to support effective pipeline execution.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead strategy and transformation initiatives within CD&O from conceptualization to successful implementation
  • Generate insights into the CD&O organization to identify improvement potential, and conceptualize and align resulting improvement initiatives with the organization
  • Optimize key processes in CD&O to enable faster and leaner execution
  • Act as a thought partner for senior stakeholders within CD&O and Pharma on key improvement and innovation topics
  • Drive and enhance cross-functional experience and insight handover to prepare launch readiness, collaboratively planning and building hand-over plans from the clinical program into commercialization preparation with Medical Affairs and Commercial
  • Develop and implement a portfolio of measures for investigators to be highly engaged in Bayer programs, focusing on times before and after study execution
  • Refine the customer engagement model with investigators to ensure engagement beyond trial execution
  • Generate insights on key drivers and success factors for investigator engagement
  • Contribute insights into the critical path to launch
  • Elaborate key data to support Life Cycle Management decisions and communicate subgroup analysis for respective compound in collaboration with country organization

  • Build customer focus by ensuring customer engagement activities align with product strategy
  • Build executive engagement plans for key investigators
  • Lead committed and engaged teams, modelling and shaping effective team behaviour to achieve program goals
  • Mentor, provide peer coaching, tactical advice, and expertise within the team network.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences with a minimum of 12 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in clinical development and operations, or equivalent experience in Drug Development Project Management
  • Proven track record in delivering complex, high-priority clinical programs
  • Expert ability to integrate complex cross-functional requirements into an operationally executable plan, including monitoring, regulatory requirements, drug safety requirements, data management processes, and budget parameters
  • Thorough understanding of the end-to-end drug development and commercialization process
  • Demonstrated abilities to effectively navigate and resolve complex challenges, showcasing strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, and resilience in managing obstacles and uncertainties
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with a track record of fostering engagement and collaboration among diverse stakeholders
  • Adapts quickly to and promotes change, fosters innovation, seizes strategic opportunities, and adheres to high standards
  • High energy with a focus on outcomes, a high sense of ownership, urgency, proactive and solution-oriented, and an open-minded approach to new and creative ideas
  • Collaborates with accountability and drives impactful decision-making and results within virtual, multi-cultural, and geographically diverse teams
  • Established coaching and mentoring skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with thorough knowledge of oral and written English.
