Integrated Product Medical Lead
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Integrated Product Medical Lead (IPML), you are instrumental in advancing our Oncology early development portfolio. You create significant impact through the successful progression of global development programs and the expansion of our pipeline. You set the vision and strategic direction of assigned programs, ensuring a medically and clinically sound end-to-end development strategy across various modalities, biologies, and indications. You represent the full value chain from pre-D1 up to hand-over to late-stage drug development, significantly shaping the value of our products.
Key tasks
- Serve as the clinical leader and primary clinical representative for global programs, ensuring high quality and speed of functional deliverables.
- Develop a clinical vision for molecules entering the portfolio, designing strategies for preclinical and clinical development.
- Accountable for study medical/safety aspects and risk-benefit assessments.
- Guide preclinical asset development and enable go/no-go decision making based on clinically relevant criteria.
- Lead interactions with academic and industry partners, health authorities, and key opinion leaders.
- Identify new opportunities for collaboration and manage relationships with partners to drive clinical excellence.
- Independently lead matrix teams in-line with Bayer’s VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst and Coach) leadership standards.
- Foster a culture of ownership and drive peer accountability across portfolio deliverables.
WHO YOU ARE:
- M.D. with 5+ years in direct patient care and board certification within oncology/hematology or associated subspecialties.
- Demonstrated track record of relevant basic and/or translational research documented in peer-reviewed publications.
- 5+ years of drug development experience with at least 2+ years in early drug development in the industry.
- Extensive expertise across different biologies and modalities including small and large molecules.
- Applies our VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst and Coach) leadership behaviours, demonstrates very high self-awareness as well as system awareness
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, coupled with strategic thinking and foresight.
- High energy with focus and vision; self-motivated with a high sense of ownership and urgency.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; command of a second major European language, especially German, would be an asset.
