Lead Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d) 

 
   
   

You will lead a team designing, implementing, administering and supporting scalable infrastructure solutions that enable business objectives. Using coding and scripting you will automate cloud infrastructure and operational tasks while embedding security controls and modern standards into designs. You will take ownership of incidents and problems, drive preventative measures, and coach the team to deliver excellent customer outcomes.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead the design, implementation, administration and support of infrastructure solutions and services.
  • Develop, review and enforce systems design and integration standards across the service/product lifecycle.
  • Write and maintain scripts and automation to manage cloud infrastructure and operational tasks.
  • Identify information security risks, design and embed mitigating security controls into solutions.
  • Coach and guide team members on modern standards, practices and appropriate technology selection.
  • Take accountability for incidents and proactively identify potential problems and preventive measures.
  • Initiate and monitor problem-management actions, determine remedies and assist with implementation.
  • Plan and coordinate system and acceptance testing (functional and non-functional); advise on test strategy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across compute, storage, networking, software and COTS/Open Source components.
  • Engage with product managers, architects, engineers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable solutions.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive (10+ years) experience in infrastructure engineering or a related role, with a proven track record on large-scale projects.
  • Experience in a leadership or team-lead role, with demonstrated ability to manage and mentor engineers.
  • Strong coding/scripting skills and practical experience automating cloud and operational tasks.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure fundamentals (compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure).
  • Security-first mindset with experience identifying risks and designing embedded controls.
  • Skilled in systems design, systems integration and applying appropriate design standards and tools.
  • Experienced in planning tests, driving problem management and implementing preventive measures.
  • Excellent communicator, able to consult specialists, work with stakeholders and achieve customer-focused outcomes.
  • Proactive, accountable and able to use lateral thinking to diagnose root causes and deliver solutions.
