The Market Access organization is critical in realizing the commercial potential of all products, integrated into every stage of a product's lifecycle. By proactively identifying strategic market access drivers and ensuring the payor perspective is considered throughout, Market Access supports the efficient development of differentiated products, generating value for patients, physicians, and payors. This position assumes the role of Senior Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Manager is responsible for developing and embedding HEOR solutions to optimize pricing and reimbursement for Bayer products across key countries and regions.
Key Tasks
The Senior HEOR Manager is responsible for:
- Independently leading the development and execution of a global, comprehensive, and scientifically rigorous GHEOR program aligned with the commercial and market access strategies for the brand(s) and key countries.
- Driving the collaborative generation of a payer evidence strategy and evidence deliverables (e.g., payer perspectives in clinical trials, real-world studies, patient-reported outcomes, resource data collection, statistical analyses including network meta-analyses, and economic models) and communicating these through Global Value Dossiers (GVD), publications, etc., for Bayer products/indications in collaboration with key countries and the cross-functional Global Market Access (GMAC) team.
- Providing timely strategic recommendations for early clinical development programs and real-world evidence by identifying appropriate comparators, target patient populations, and endpoints (clinical, economic, patient-reported outcomes) to ensure differentiation for relative value demonstration and contributing to portfolio reviews.
- Coordinating a unified global strategy and submission package for health technology assessment (HTA) agencies, supporting the development of regulatory submission packages related to patient-reported outcomes (PRO) endpoints. Additionally, providing post-submission support related to health economic evidence to secure product reimbursement.
- Collaborating with the global market access team to develop value propositions and proactively identify evidence requirements to support relative value demonstration and product differentiation.
- Representing the GHEOR function, managing effective communications with various internal global/regional teams, as well as appropriate external forums and meetings.
WHO YOU ARE
- Master’s degree (MSc) or Doctoral degree (PhD) in health economics, statistics, epidemiology, health services research, or a related field required.
- 5 years of experience in HEOR, Market Access, or closely related fields within a pharmaceutical company or HEOR consultancy, with significant exposure to global roles and high-level HTA countries (e.g., EU, UK, Canada, Australia, Scandinavia).
- In-depth knowledge of clinical research, especially clinical drug studies and drug development strategies; hands-on experience in evaluating healthcare interventions and conducting health economics, health-related quality of life, and/or health services research studies.
- Strong understanding of global healthcare systems and the requirements for health technology assessment and market access; experience in preparing materials for reimbursement.
- Experience in assisting country affiliates with their reimbursement and payer submissions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and identify effective solutions.
- Ability to manage a significant volume of projects, exercising good triage and judgment skills; publication and cross-functional team leadership experience desirable.
- Excellent judgment in conflict management, negotiation, and influence; strong process and project management skills required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills: ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customer demands.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
