Transfer Pricing and Business Model Manager (m/w/d) 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Responsible for the development and management of the Global Swiss Principal Business Models, with a focus on Crop Science EMEA, you define the intellectual property strategy, decide on function‑specific business model frameworks and optimize intragroup transactions.

 

In this role, you minimize tax exposure for the Bayer Group by advising local management and the business to comply with local and international tax requirements, while managing the transfer pricing function of the Basel Principal to safeguard compliance with Swiss and international laws, regulations and practices; You work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Supply Chain and Business to ensure that business model design, implementation and ongoing operation are fully aligned with Bayer’s strategic, financial and compliance objectives.

 

KEY TASKS:

 

  • Define, design and supervise the correct implementation of Principal Business Models for specific products within cross‑functional projects, ensuring compliance with national and international laws, regulations and practices, with a particular focus on tax;
  • Ensure that all effects of business model set‑up or changes are correctly reflected in divisional and legal entity budgets and forecasts, and that required substance and functions are allocated to the appropriate legal entities;
  • Lead the Business Model Council for Basel, manage and assess new business requests affecting Basel, secure final approvals, and drive implementation by coordinating and aligning all relevant stakeholders and information in collaboration with global specialists;
  • Perform local and cross‑border tax analyses to minimize the Group’s global tax exposure, leverage tax incentives, and ensure that Swiss Hub business models where Basel acts as principal comply with tax, customs, planning and accounting requirements;
  • Manage all aspects of transfer pricing for the Basel Principal, including policy design and application, to ensure arm’s‑length remuneration of group companies and compliance with Swiss and foreign tax regulations and OECD guidelines;
  • Develop, evaluate and implement defense strategies for tax audits and examinations involving transfer pricing and related tax issues, and provide strategic responses to tax authority requests to reduce the risk of income adjustments;
  • Identify and mitigate financial and compliance risks by monitoring the profitability of group companies, managing the year‑end EBIT adjustment process (e.g. via credit and debit notes), and safeguarding robust transfer pricing documentation for Basel in line with OECD and local country requirements;
  • Conduct monthly Principal Review meetings (e.g. CS, CH, PH) to track performance of the Principal Business Models and optimize the local contribution to the Group’s profit by providing financial, analytical and strategic direction to senior management.

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business or Accounting;
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Finance within a multinational corporation;
  • Profound knowledge of tax accounting and tax reporting, with strong expertise in transfer pricing or a closely related field (e.g. OECD guidelines, pricing methodologies for tangibles, intangibles and services), ideally complemented by additional TP & Tax qualifications (such as international IBFD courses);
  • Outstanding analytical and digital skills, with a high level of IT literacy;
  • Strong team player and excellent communicator with a business‑partnering mindset and behavior;
  • First‑rate strategic and cross‑functional thinker with exemplary project management skills, able to meet strict deadlines and guide quick decision‑making processes autonomously;
  • Fluency in English.
