Translation Imaging Lead (m/f/d)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Translation Imaging Lead (Director Clinical Imaging), you play a pivotal role in advancing Bayer’s oncology clinical programs by integrating cutting-edge imaging techniques throughout the drug development process. Your strategic guidance and innovation are key to ensuring the effective use of imaging biomarkers, enhancing decision-making, and driving excellence within the clinical imaging portfolio. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, you will lead initiatives that adhere to regulatory standards, push technical boundaries, and shape the future of imaging in alignment with Bayer’s vision. Your leadership will foster a flat organizational structure, emphasizing collaboration and innovation without hierarchies.
Key Tasks:
- Develop and implement strategic imaging guidance for clinical and biomarker portfolios.
- Advise on imaging biomarkers and techniques for translation science strategies and clinical trials.
- Ensure timely delivery of milestones and mitigate roadblocks in clinical imaging portfolio strategy.
- Own imaging delivery in synchronization with drug R&D, leveraging deep oncology knowledge.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maximize imaging strategy success.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and drive qualification processes for imaging activities.
- Present imaging analyses to internal decision-making committees.
- Identify and manage collaborations to drive imaging excellence in alignment with Bayer's strategy.
- Lead strategic initiatives across functional teams, fostering effective team behaviours.
- Promote Bayer at scientific forums and build networks with academic and industry partners.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Medical doctor (MD or MD/PhD) or imaging scientist (PhD) with 7+ years industry experience, or Masters with 9+ years, or Bachelors’ with 13+ years in radiology, nuclear medicine, imaging physics, or image analysis;
- Proven track record in clinical development, especially in oncology imaging and biomarker use.
- In-depth understanding of imaging and clinical development in oncology, including regulatory frameworks.
- Outstanding scientific reputation with multiple publications and conference presentations.
- Strong network in imaging specialties and oncology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management and strategic vision setting.
- Role-model for Bayer’s VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) leadership behaviours, focusing on outcomes, collaboration, customer co-creation, rapid learning, inclusion, and strategic thinking.
