EMEA Quality Trial Specialist 


As a Quality Trial Specialist you arrange trials at young plant nurseries to determine the germination rate and plant growth of our Bayer Vegetables portfolio. You have to make the planning, examine the plants and finally do the statistical analyses and reporting. 

You cooperate in cross-functional disciplines within Bayer Vegetables Division such as Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Testing (QT), Seed Technology, Market Development (MD), R & D, Production, Inventory Management, Operations, Customer Operations, Marketing and Sales.

The main purpose of the job:

  • Validate through locally trial based studies whether the seed that is delivered to our customers is becoming a market confirm plant.
  • Together with the customers in Europe work on projects to improve the germination prediction and the crop performance of young plants.
  • Together with Sales and Product management work on projects to improve young plants growing from our seeds.
  • Analyze data coming from the experiments, conclude and present the outcome, both in a scientific and business-oriented way.
  • Ensure quality in all we do!



  • Project management – propose, receive, approve and execute project activities. 
  • Manage projects, data collection and analysis, summarize and write conclusions.
  • Provide recommendations to clarify criteria related to production specifications and dispositions for effective utilization of seed inventories. 
  • Work with stakeholders (Product Supply Quality and Planning, Customer Interface, Market Development and Sales) to interpret results from research projects and develop criteria for application test data related to the market.
  • Investigate new seed germination methods and statistical research.
  • Support ring testing activities within the labs when requested for germ, genetic and physical quality using statistical tools to validate best practices and enhance customer satisfaction.



  • Master’s (M.S) preferably in agriculture, or biology with 3 years of experience or Bachelors (B.S.) degree in similar area with 5+ years’ experience. Demonstrated supervisory and teaching abilities are critical.
  • Great organizational and planning skills for managing multiple projects in different countries.
  • Analytical and scientific approach to research questions plus experience in trial design and statistics.
  • Excellent communications skills including the capability to clearly present information and influence or persuade others through oral or written communications (multilingual in local language/English). 
  • The ability to communicate with different reporting levels in multi-national and cultural organization as an individual or a team.
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills. Capability to act in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced global and multi-cultural vegetable seed company.
  • Driving license “B” category.
