Internship Medical Image Segmentation and Active Learning (All Genders) 

YOUR TASKS AND LEARNING OPPURTUNITIES 

• Applying your software engineering skills to enhance a full-stack application, potentially working on the Python backend, the TypeScript/JavaScript frontend, or the cloud infrastructure. 

• Leveraging your machine learning and computer vision knowledge to help integrate or evaluate segmentation models. 

• Contributing to the improvement of interactive tools in the space of active learning. 

• Work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team of scientists and radiologists. 

• Gaining practical experience with Google Cloud Services (GCS) and Docker for scalable AI model deployment. 

• Working directly on challenges in deploying ML for medical image analysis. 

 
WHO YOU ARE 

• Pursuing a master's degree in computer science, Medical Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field. 

• Strong programming proficiency in Python. 

• Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision fundamentals, especially image segmentation. 

• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and version control systems (git). 

• Ability to understand and contribute to an existing, complex codebase. 

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German is a plus 

This position is a 6-month fixed-term internship starting on 15th August 2025 with the option for an additional 6-month master thesis. We look forward to your complete online application, including your CV and transcripts of record.
