User Experience (UX) Designer
We are looking for a skilled UX Designer to enhance the Carbon Lifecycle IT Platform. This opportunity will conduct user research to understand the needs and pain points of target users such as farmers, agronomists, and data analysts. You will create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to effectively communicate design concepts and user flows. Planning and conducting usability testing sessions will be essential to gather feedback and iterate on designs. Collaboration with the Product Manager and developers will ensure design feasibility and alignment with product goals. You will contribute to a design system for consistency, create visually appealing user interfaces, produce design documentation for accurate implementation, and stay current with industry trends and best practices in UX design and agriculture technology.

We are a small and collaborative team working together to build a great software product. Our team combines a mix of product management, user research, UX/UI design, product marketing and software development expertise. This is a permanent, Canada home-based position.
What you will do:
- User Research: Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of our target users, including farmers, agronomists, and data analysts.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user flows for the Carbon Lifecycle Platform.
- User Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to gather feedback on designs, iterating based on insights to enhance user experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Product Manager, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with product goals.
- Design Systems: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system that promotes consistency and scalability across the platform.
- Visual Design: Create visually appealing and functional user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience while adhering to brand guidelines.
- Documentation: Produce design documentation and specifications to guide development and ensure accurate implementation of design elements.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX design and agriculture technology.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- 3/+ years of experience as a UX Designer, preferably in software or technology focused roles.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design projects, including research, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma (Preferred), Adobe XD, or similar software.
- Experience with usability testing and user research methodologies.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to innovative solutions in agriculture.
- Familiarity with workflow automation and data management systems is a plus.
