Translational Sciences Lead 

 

The Translational Sciences Lead (TSL) is pivotal in advancing our oncology portfolio, creating significant impact through the progression of global development programs and pipeline expansion from early target assessment through life cycle management. As a TSL, you set the vision and strategic direction for assigned programs, ensuring state-of-the-art precision medicine, including all aspects of patient segmentation and proof of mechanism for product differentiation from pre-D1 through registration, including companion diagnostics strategies as appropriate.

 

You will build and execute an end-to-end Translation strategy, providing translational science leadership for global development programs with full decision-making authority. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you drive the creation and maintenance of a bench-to-bedside and back strategy to maximize the success of development programs, significantly shaping the value of the product and driving data-driven decisions and competitive drug labels. Your role is crucial in driving value and differentiation of oncology assets based on scientific hypotheses from the early stages of development.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Translational Sciences Lead are to:

 

  • Develop, implement and maintain end-to-end Translation strategies for development programs;
  • Sets the vision and strategic direction of assigned programs ensuring state-of-the-art precision medicine;
  • Drive all aspects of patient segmentation and proof of mechanism for product differentiation through registration including companion diagnostics;
  • Is accountable for shaping technical excellence within organization by driving core projects, people, and innovation under a peer-reviewed setting;
  • Shape the value of products through data-driven decisions and competitive labeling;
  • Ensure state-of-the-art precision medicine practices;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to maximize program success;
  • Drive value and differentiation of oncology assets from early development stages.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • MD and/or PhD in Biochemistry, molecular Biology, or Genetics or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate innovation to advance Precision Medicine in oncology;
  • Scientific excellence: Demonstrated by a track record of relevant basic and/or translational research documented in peer reviewed publications;
  • Extensive experience in drug development and pharmacological studies;
  • Proven track record in leading global development programs;
  • Strong strategic thinking and innovation skills;
  • Ability to collaborate flexibly across functions and lead with authority;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience in precision medicine and patient segmentation strategies.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 12+ years of industry experience in the field of biomarkers/precision medicine with proven track record of successful leadership in this field·

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 272,880.00 - $409,320.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.

 

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
