Genome Editing - Pipeline Coordinator
You will serve as a core member of the Crop Genome Editing team, supporting a fit-for-purpose edit pipeline and ensuring accurate and timely submission of requests across multiple systems and functional teams; You will be responsible for maintaining documentation, tracking pipeline activities, and reporting regular status updates to enable the smooth operation of the genome editing workflow; Your attention to detail and system knowledge will help maintain pipeline integrity and transparency, as you work within a system of diverse, empowered teams to contribute to our mission of Health for All and Hunger for None.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
- Coordinate E1+ editing pipeline activities across functional teams and external partners;
- Ensure all required information is accurately captured and maintained across tracking systems and databases;
- Generate routine pipeline status reports using established templates and dashboards;
- Track sample movement and status updates throughout the editing workflow to maintain visibility and traceability;
- Verify that all requests meet submission requirements and contain the necessary information before processing;
- Communicate with scientists and functional teams to resolve missing information, submission errors, and inconsistencies;
- Support capacity forecasting by collecting, organizing, and summarizing pipeline demand data;
- Assist in organizing, documenting, and following up on pipeline review meetings;
- Help troubleshoot submission issues and system access problems in collaboration with digital and IT partners.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working in a scientific, technical, or operations environment, preferably supporting laboratory, genomics, or pipeline workflows;
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to maintain accurate records across multiple systems and databases;
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, requests, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with scientists and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues;
- Proficiency with standard office and data tools (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, dashboards) and willingness to learn specialized tracking systems;
- Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to documentation, meeting support, and follow-up;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of diverse, empowered teams, demonstrating accountability and a collaborative mindset;
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with pipeline or project tracking tools and dashboards in R&D or production environments;
- Background or coursework in biology, plant science, genetics, or a related field;
- Prior experience supporting genome editing, genomics, or other molecular biology workflows;
- Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives, including identifying and helping implement enhancements to tracking or submission systems.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $94,000-$141,000 Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
