YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The New Transformation Technology Lead is accountable for finding and bringing innovative solutions toward establishing state-of-the art transformation technology workflows for the Plant Biotechnology pipeline.
The primary responsibilities of this role, New Transformation Technology Lead, are to:
- Bring innovative technologies to Plant Biotech through internal and external scouting, developing proof-of-concept, and implementation;
- Accountable for major projects of a technically complex nature which have a corporate-wide focus, or interaction between divisions of more than one group and/or external to Bayer;
- Frequently and effectively interacts with global counterparts and global management;
- Provide occasional support to international programs of increased scope as well as scientific expertise to Plant Biotech portfolio projects;
- Partner within Functional/Portfolio leads and R&D leadership to influence and collaborate across Plant Biotech, OISP and related functions (i.e., Small Molecules) to identify gaps and technical solutions that can impact multiple portfolio areas;
- Develop technical resource decisions which involve a high degree of planning and coordinating ability so that numerous activities converge successfully.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in plant physiology, plant genetics, cell biology, or related field;
- Demonstrated track record of solving challenging and complex problems;
- Exceptional leadership, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills will be required to negotiate scope/resources, manage, and synchronize activities with team members, stakeholders, and management;
- Demonstrated ability to provide scientific leadership, organizational management, and excellent collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in plant physiology, plant genetics, cell biology, or related field and 10+ years professional experience.
