Protein Specialist |

Protein Specialist for Chesterfield, MO to develop & optimize protein expression and purification procedures from plant tissues, bacterial, yeast, and insect cells; develop & validate enzyme assays; perform protein characterization & formulation; perform protein safety assessments; perform data documentation & prepare reports. Requires Master’s in Biochemistry, Biology, or closely related field & 1 yr experience performing protein characterization and safety assessments using protein biochemistry techniques, including gel electrophoresis, quantification methodologies, and functional activity assays in a laboratory environment; developing and/or improving novel protein isolation methods from biological tissues, including bacteria over-expression systems & plant tissues, using chromatography; developing and/or improving protein expression for recombinant proteins in bacterial cells with cloning techniques; developing & validating activity assays for proteins based on their functions using enzyme assays and/or protein binding assays; managing studies in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice requirements. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per wk from home office location within reasonable commuting distance of Chesterfield, MO. Salary Range: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $80,000.00 to $105,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. The offered salary may vary within this range based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
