YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

You will work collaboratively with the Sample Prep Lab Supervisor and other lab team members. Additionally, you will deliver daily and weekly lab targets under tight deadlines, identifying opportunities for system or process improvements, operating equipment, and perform lab experiments in alignment with Plant Biotechnology goals and objectives. 

 

The primary responsibilities of this role,  R&D Specialist II, are to: 

 

  • Complete various lab experiments and processes in alignment with the weekly work queue provided by the lab supervisor;
  • Coordinate and evaluate orders to ensure proper sample preparation, labeling, packaging, and documentation compliance;
  • Solve problems of moderate scope, independently or with team members;
  • Analyze results of lab experiments or processes under supervision;
  • Operate and troubleshoot lab instrumentation and perform lab equipment maintenance;
  • Partner with the Sample Prep Lab Supervisor to deliver the best customer experience while ensuring required processes are properly executed;
  • Contribute to the maintenance of inventory and storage of samples according to work instructions;
  • Maintain detailed records and required documentation, preparing reports for supervisor review under time constraints;
  • Achieve commitment to compliance/stewardship and safety policies, protocols, and best practices.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as part of a group;
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently with occasional supervision;
  • Works effectively in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications;
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree with minimum experience;  OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • High School Diploma with 10 years relevant experience.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $60,000.00 to $90,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
