R&D Spec III Analytical Chemist |

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will apply your knowledge of analytical chemistry for the advancement of new Crop Protection/Efficiency and Seed and Trait Products. Additionally, you will gain knowledge in product development, project management and other analytical techniques to advance our pipeline and your career.
The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist III (Analytical Chemist), are to:
- Apply wet chemistry, Elemental Analysis, HPLC, LC-MS and GC-MS methods for R&D of new Crop Protection/Efficiency and Seed & Trait Products;
- Helps design and analyze the results of experiments under supervision of scientists;
- Designs and conducts experiments for method validation to support early and late phase R&D projects;
- Maintains detailed record keeping and required documentation;
- Prepares reports with large data sets for peer review under time constraints across various project types and communicates analytical results to partners and key stakeholders;
- Participates in method development, existing workflow improvement and problem solving;
- Maintains lab equipment and coordinates efforts to improve lab safety and operation efficiency;
- Commits to safety goals and adherences to safety protocols and best practices.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field;
- Strong chemistry acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data;
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree;
- Two or more years of relevant research experience in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Cell Biology, Plant Biology, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields (to include academic and industrial experience post-undergraduate).
