Test Systems Intern
Bayer manufactures and formulates crop protection products for a wide variety of markets across the globe. In the Application Technology group, it is our job to test these crop protection products for compatibility with application equipment at “pilot” scale, and to generate objective figures of merit for identifying acceptable performance of a particular product mixture and application process. This is a critical activity which must be done prior to sending new products to growers.
In this role, you would be part of a team within Bayer Crop Science R&D focusing on development of new equipment and protocols to test crop protection products. Opportunities for your own development include hands-on mechanical and electrical testing, making a direct contribution to tangible solution development, networking with Bayer colleagues across the company, and gaining exposure specifically to Bayer R&D.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
- Integrate and test new hardware in crop protection testing equipment;
- Perform analysis of crop protection product characteristics and identify objective metrics of success or failure;
- Contribute to standards in testing equipment and protocols.
- Analyze data to draw conclusions and define next steps;
- Present project results to leadership team and stakeholder group;
- Build network within regional collaborative teams and the wider Field Solutions function to accomplish project goals.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields;
- Solid understanding and practical experience with essential hand tools;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficiency in reading and understanding technical manuals prior to equipment installation or operation;
- Willingness to engage in dialogue and ask questions to gain a better understanding or seek clarification.
