Enabling Procurement Manager

About the Team
Procurement Indirects - Enabling Engagement Team
We partner with global stakeholders across Professional Services, HR Services, Legal Services, Fleet, and Workplace Solutions to deliver sourcing excellence, supplier value, and business outcomes at speed and scale.

What is in for you:

  • Be part of a new beginning. We are in the process of building a new team in Procurement focused on Sourcing capability, and you can be part of it and learn a profession from scratch.
  • Make global connections that feel local. Our hubs bring together multicultural teams in flexible work setups where diverse perspectives are valued and celebrated.
  • Enjoy purpose with autonomy. In our DSO (Dynamic Shared Ownership) model, you're empowered to act, shape decisions, and take real ownership. Buying better means making an impact and improving access to health and nutrition.
  • Experience a culture that values curiosity and collaboration. Learn, grow, experiment, and have people around you who make work feel fun.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for Enabling categories end-to-end: opportunity identification, sourcing strategy, RFx execution, negotiations, award, and contracting—in partnership with other procurement professionals and business stakeholders.
  • Drive supplier management (performance, risk, compliance, innovation, sustainability): run QBRs, escalate/mitigate issues, and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders to shape demand, define requirements, align on value levers (cost, quality, service, innovation, risk), and land measurable outcomes.
  • Operationalize taxonomy & playbooks so buying channels, content, and guardrails reflect Bayer’s procurement taxonomy and category strategies.
  • Leverage data & market intelligence for should-costs, rate governance, award scenarios, and contract models; contribute to category roadmaps and rate card frameworks (e.g., Legal Services & HR Services towers).
  • Collaborate globally with other procurement categories and shared services centers to enable scalable sourcing execution and supplier onboarding.

What you’ll bring:

Must haves

  • Experience: Several years (minimum of 8 years) of experience with a proven track record of delivering results in strategic procurement/sourcing, preferably in Enabling categories (Professional Services, HR Services, Legal Services, Fleet, and Office Solutions).
  • Category fluency: Understanding of key service towers (e.g., temporary labor, recruiting & outplacement, training & development; legal services including IP/patents/litigation; travel/office/fleet; consulting/financial services) and how to structure RFx and rate cards accordingly.
  • Sourcing excellence: Strong negotiations, commercial acumen, supplier performance management, and contracting exposure.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Ability to influence senior partners and drive decisions in a complex, matrixed, global environment.
  • Tools: Familiarity with e-Procurement/P2P platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, SAP ERP, etc.) and solid Excel/PowerPoint skills.
  • Language: English (mandatory) for a global role reporting into a global team; Portuguese (mandatory) for local collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Experience in other indirects or even directs is a plus.
