Packaging Technology Engineer

The Packaging Technology Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating technical initiatives across the organization to drive innovation and operational excellence. This position involves overseeing project engineering, maintenance strategies, and process improvements to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. Emphasizes the development of effective technical teams, fostering collaboration, and promoting knowledge sharing to enhance capabilities. Identifies and implements best practices, manages technical integrity, and ensures that all engineering activities align with organizational goals for safety, quality, and efficiency.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Lead packaging development activities for U.S. Glyphosate & I.T. &O. Glyphosate businesses.
  • Lead/direct/support teams to ensure new product launch and business objectives are achieved.
  • Evaluate technology portfolio, crecommend and implement best practices to ensure responsible, reliable operations.
  • Provide critical packaging data and information to ensure the proper function of packaging data and compliance systems.
  • Maintain new product request information.
  • Maintain strong relationships with procurement colleagues and packaging material suppliers to ensure effective management of cost of goods.
  • Perform/develop reporting for various packaging performance evaluations (such as ESCR, Drop Test, Chemical Compatibility, Machinery Trials, Mixing/Pump Evaluations, etc.)
  • Maintain packaging material specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and identify solutions for packaging challenges and quality concerns
  • Innovate design solutions for commercial and sustainable packaging.
  • Develop and maintain all packaging Bill of Materials, packaging production, and assembly instruction, stacking plans, loading diagrams, and other required documentation.
  • Support BOM entries into production system for any non-Gly skus that are contract manufactures by home entity.

 

WHO YOU ARE 

Ruveon seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Ability to build strong relationships and networks both inside and outside of Ruveon.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills in a business environment.
  • Ability to influence, manage conflict, and build cross functional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the corporate strategy and the role that packaging technology plays in support of overall product supply organization.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Specialized knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, machinery, and hazardous materials in packaging.
  • BS in Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or other technical field with 8+ years of experience, or minimum of 8 years practical experience within the packaging operations industry.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time between Muscatine, IA and Creve Coeur, MO.

This posting will be available for application until at least 7/30/2026. 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 112,320.00 – 168,480.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
