Time & Attendance Manager 

 

The Time & Attendance Manager is responsible for oversight and governance of the Time & Attendance process, policies, pay practices and technology.  The incumbent provides developmental and leadership support to the HR Time & Attendance Specialists and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal and state wage and hour regulations and supporting Bayer's product supply and manufacturing sites across the US.  This role requires an extremely detailed orientated person with significant knowledge of workforce management, compensation, and payroll administration.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Time & Attendance Manager, are to:

 

  • Leadership, development, and performance management of the HR Time & Attendance Specialist roles;
  • Responsible for the successful evaluation, creation, implementation, and execution of time solutions in accordance with l Bayer paid time off and pay practices and policies;
  • Drive time & pay practice standardization, automation, and improvement;
  • Use data driven insights to provide strategic direction and expertise regarding the Time & Attendance function measuring and acting on KPIs, along with creating and driving short-term and long-term strategies for continuous improvement;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of time & labor inputs, ensure process adherence for time & labor inputs into HRIS time & labor system, forecasting labor costs based on historical time & labor and payroll data;
  • Develop understanding of business performance drivers. Support development of dashboards and KPI tools to analyze time & pay historical data, create stories to provide to key stakeholders which will enable data-driven decision-making;
  • Assist manufacturing plant(s), product supply sites /and or corporate functions with identifying, analyzing, and executing cost savings opportunities for time & labor;
  • Ensure that all Bayer US Site pay practices, and pay policies are compliant with wage & hour laws, federal and state regulations and the company’s policies and procedures;
  • Support Labor Relations, Site HR Lead, and Legal during union negotiations and contract renewals by providing requested data, analysis, and recommendations for system feasibility for time and attendance;
  • Review, design, develop, recommend, and implement updated time & payroll-related policies and procedures as needed;
  • Drive results on special projects, initiatives, and goals in an agile and rapid cycle environment;
  • Responsible for ensuring SLAs are met on inquiries from our employees and managers;
  • Assist with issue resolution with IT, vendors, HR teams and sites;
  • Manage and support 3rd party vendor partners.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Strong coaching skills and demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others;
  • Confidence in autonomous decision making;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time-keeping activities in support of complex labor policies and legislation;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy regulations;
  • Strong proficiency in common workforce and labor management solutions such as Kronos (UKG); SAP SuccessFactors EC Time, TMW, CATS; Dayforce Workforce Management; ADP Workforce Manager;
  • Strong proficiency in SAP HCM and MS Office products, including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint;
  • Experience working with manufacturing and union environments;
  • In-depth knowledge of HR programs and policies;
  • Ability travel up to 20 percent;

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years overall HR, Finance, and/or IT experience or related experience;
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing a team and/or projects;
  • Experience working in a global environment and matrix organization;
  • Experience with AI and digital transformation;
