Senior Manager - Public Affairs, Crop Sc
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Sr Manager - Public Affairs, Crop Science will be responsible for driving the PA initiatives, focusing on areas critical to Bayer's business objectives and growth. This role requires a hands-on, proactive approach to public affairs and a deep understanding of stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and manage impactful campaigns to advance Bayer's interests and position the organization as a thought leader in critical policy discussions.
- Identify opportunities and help to build strategic coalitions and alliances with industry bodies, think tanks, and other relevant organizations to drive systemic reform and achieve shared policy objectives.
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret policy developments, regulatory changes, and government initiatives in the agrochemicals sector.
- Work closely with internal teams globally and across different business units to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with corporate objectives and global public affairs strategies.
- Explore and identify opportunities for external funding and strategic partnerships that align with Bayer's public affairs objectives.
WHO YOU ARE:
- 7 to 9 years of progressive experience in public affairs, law, government relations, advocacy, and/or journalism, with a proven track record of shaping policy outcomes and influencing regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of the Indian policy environment, particularly in sectors relevant to Bayer (e.g., agrochemicals), including central and state-level policymaking.
- Demonstrated ability to manage advocacy campaigns, strategic partnerships secure market access, and drive policy reform.
- Proven experience in identifying and engaging with key policymakers, regulators, industry associations, and other key opinion formers, demonstrating the ability to build and foster robust relationships and navigate complex government landscapes.
- Ability to anticipate external trends, identify opportunities, and develop proactive public affairs strategies that align with business objectives.
- Hands-on experience in managing complex advocacy projects, demonstrating fast thinking and proactive problem-solving.
- Highly collaborative with an ability to work effectively in a global, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
- High levels of professionalism, resilience, and integrity, fitting within Bayer's ethical culture.
Qualifications/ eligibility:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, Economics, Journalism or a related field.
- Relevant experience in similar sectors may be preferred.
