Seed Technician
Bayer Row Crops organization is expanding its production operations team in Eloy, AZ.
WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU
As a Seed Technician, you will be involved in all facets of row crop seed production (cotton). Unlike a traditional manufacturing role, you will experience a variety of responsibilities throughout the growing season. You will be expected to work a rotating shift schedule, including some nights and weekends, as required.
- Operating machinery / equipment for production processes and, where applicable, managing our production grower network;
- Responsible for ensuring that production processes happen safely, effectively, and with quality in alignment with general procedures of the area;
- Expected to mentor / train new employees, perform basic maintenance of equipment, and handle basic activities in Bayer systems (SAP and electronic networks).
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $27.03 - $33.85 per hour with overtime as applicable. Starting salary is based on the candidate’s experience, education, and market pay for a role in the region. WHO YOU ARE
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Basic user knowledge of standard computer programs (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, tablets/smart devices);
- Valid driver’s license (to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s risk screening for hiring drivers – Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening);
- Ability to lift 60lbs (a bag of seed);
- Ability to work: days, nights, rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
MORE ABOUT YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach (VACC) behaviors to ensure accuracy, quality and timely delivery of products;
- Operate equipment and execute tasks to enable seed production processes;
- Lead and engage in Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings; articulate shift objectives and allocate resources across all active production areas;
- Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork in coaching / training seasonal workforce, area trainees, and peers; contribute to overall team success and the personal development teammates;
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections;
- Troubleshoot problems associated with equipment, processes, and systems;
- Apply operational excellence practices to operations (5S, Lean, Six Sigma, 5WHYs);
- Perform Site Responsible Researcher (SRR) duties ensuring adherence to stewardship processes and protocols that are completed accurately and timely. This includes field monitoring, grower communication and accurate documentation;
- Ensure upstream activities (e.g., field inspection, grower contract) are handled within company standards and business requirements;
- Collaborate with key partners to deliver the business across plant and field operations;
- Comply with internal procedures and support legal compliance related to area activities;
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bayer’s Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards;
- Support administrative procedures, documenting key readings, maintenance orders and production information;
- Deliver other responsibilities as the business needs.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $27.03 - $33.85 per hour. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
