Unit Lead Pull- Enkhuizen 

 
   
   

As a Unit Lead, you will have an important role in guiding the Treat & Pellet and Pick & Pack squads at our Enkhuizen & Venhuizen sites. Your leadership will be essential in driving the performance and success of these teams (21fte). With a keen focus on safety and quality, you will oversee every aspect of the squads' output, ensuring that we meet our Cost of Goods (COG) targets and Service Level Agreements while aligning with our long-range plans. You will be the visionary leader who develops clear outcomes and fosters a diverse, dynamic, and self-managing team. Your ability to identify and remove roadblocks will empower your squads to reach their full potential, while your coaching will help individuals grow and excel in their roles. Moreover, you will be attuned to the needs of our customers and stakeholders, skillfully managing expectations to ensure satisfaction and success. You’ll engage with key stakeholders from other Manufacturing squads, but also Commercial, Supply Chain, Crops Teams, Seed Technology, Logistics, Production and R&D.

Additionally, you'll work with off-site support teams such as IT, HR, Legal, Finance, Procurement and Global teams.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the output of the squads (e.g. on time delivery & quality), safety of our employees as well as compliance related to the license to operate
  • Establish a mission by understanding customer needs and the broader business model, while exploring future possibilities
  • Organize a structure that prioritizes the customer and facilitates collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure optimal use of resources and expertise within the team through rotation and streamlined processes
  • Remove obstacles to connect people and promote collaboration, cross-functional learning, and  personal development
  • Assist teams in operating in 90-day cycles to maximize value creation and discontinue non-value-adding activities
  • Support the team in adopting self-directed work methods by listening and asking questions to unlock their potential
  • Uphold Bayer’s values related to sustainability, safety, and environment (SSHE) through effective communication and stakeholder engagement
  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to driving improvements and place significant value on achieving results
  • Provide input for long-term planning (e.g., Site Master Plan) from the unit, including considerations for CAPEX investments and OPEX budgets for the location.

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Agriculture, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Logistics
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross functional operational teams, previous experience leading leaders
  • Understanding of internal procedures/protocols with Legal/Labor Relations, Regulatory, SSHE and Quality requirements
  • Ability to influence all levels in the organization
  • Strategic & Customer Centric Thinking
  • Additionally, you are empathetic, capable of working independently, and skilled at motivating others through effective coaching
