Unit Lead Pull in Enkhuizen

As a Unit Lead, you will be at the forefront of guiding our Treat & Pellet and Pick & Pack squads at our Enkhuizen and Venhuizen sites. YOUR NEW ROLE

You will lead a dedicated team of 21 talented individuals, where your influence is vital in driving performance and achieving success. In this role, you will be a visionary leader, guiding your squads with a keen focus on safety and quality.

 

You'll oversee every aspect of your teams output, ensuring we meet our Cost of Goods (COG) targets and Service Level Agreements (SLA) while aligning with our long-range plans. Your ability to identify and remove roadblocks will empower your squads to reach their full potential, while your coaching will help individuals grow and excel.

 

Collaboration will be key as you engage with stakeholders not only from other Manufacturing squads but also from Commercial, Supply Chain, Crops Teams, Seed Technology, Logistics, Production, and R&D. You’ll also connect with off-site support teams like IT, HR, and Finance, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Your ability to connect with these diverse teams will enhance our collective efforts and drive us toward our goals.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive Squad Performance. Ensure timely delivery and high-quality output from your squads, while prioritizing the safety of employees and maintaining compliance with operational licenses.
  • Establish and define a clear mission by deeply understanding customer needs and the broader business landscape, exploring innovative possibilities for future growth.
  • Foster a Customer-Centric Structure. Organize a team structure that prioritizes customer satisfaction and encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Optimize Resource Utilization. Maximize the effectiveness of resources and expertise within the team through strategic rotation and streamlined processes.
  • Identify and remove obstacles or challenges that hinder collaboration, promoting cross-functional learning and personal development among team members.
  • Facilitate and assist in 90-Day cycles to enhance value creation and eliminate non-value-adding activities.
  • Encourage and support the team in adopting self-directed work methods by actively listening and asking insightful questions to unlock their potential.
  • Uphold Bayer’s values related to sustainability, safety, and the environment (SSHE) through effective communication and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Thrive for continuous improvement by demonstrating a strong commitment and achieving results that align with organizational goals.
  • Contribute to long-term planning initiatives, such as the Site Master Plan, including considerations for CAPEX investments and OPEX budgets.

To thrive in this role, you possess:

  • Current residency in the Netherlands and fluent in English, proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Agriculture, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Logistics.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional operational teams.
  • Strong high-end stakeholder management, experience in leading leaders.
  • A solid understanding of internal procedures and protocols related to Legal/Labor Relations, Regulatory requirements, SSHE, and Quality standards.
  • Strategic and customer-centric thinking. The ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Empathy, independence, and a knack for motivating others through effective coaching.
