Capability Expert - Asset Accounting

About the Role

As a Capability Expert , you will be a key leader in our Global Expert Hub, driving initiatives in Asset Accounting and taking charge of global projects rather than routine daily processes. We are looking for an engaged and proactive individual who is not just an accountant but a true leader who takes the initiative and drives topics forward. You will play a vital role in the Record-to-Report (R2R) process, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting aligned with IFRS, local GAAP, and internal policies. Your focus will be on fostering process excellence, digitalization, and continuous improvement across our global teams.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior accounting expert within the R2R team, providing guidance and functional support to colleagues while leading initiatives that enhance our operational capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, local GAAP) and internal control systems, while actively contributing to the strategic direction of our asset accounting projects.
  • Collaborate with Controlling, Procurement, Product Supply, Legal, and other key functions to ensure proper accounting and reporting, driving alignment across the organization.
  • Partner with Global Process Governance (GPG) and Global Expert Hubs to maintain globally defined standards and optimize activity splits, ensuring our operations are efficient and effective.
  • Monitor and improve service delivery, ensuring performance meets SLA and benchmark targets, while identifying opportunities for innovation and enhancement.
  • Contribute to local and global projects, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), system integrations, and legal entity changes, taking a leadership role in driving project success.
  • Support optimization and digitalization initiatives, leveraging tools such as Power BI and other analytical platforms to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Actively participate in expert communities and knowledge-sharing forums, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Who You Are

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Taxation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting, Controlling, or Financial Reporting, with a strong focus on project management and leadership.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
  • Proficient in SAP (FI/CO) and Microsoft Office; experience with Power BI or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English (C1); proficiency in German or other languages is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead change, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data quality and process improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and engaging with diverse teams.
