Capability Expert in Global Expert Hub |

The purpose of this position is to cover a specific area of the Global Expert Hub within GBS Gdansk for Financial Accounting – General Ledger and to take responsibility for monitoring, analysis, knowledge management, continuous improvement activities, and enforcement of global processes. The role also acts as an extended workbench for the Global Process Owner organization and the Consolidation department.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and coordinate multiple finance and accounting topics across the organization.
- Act as a lead for financial processes, supporting and empowering team members and capability community members.
- Build and steer a global expert community focused on process excellence.
- Partner with Global Expert Hubs, Global Process Governance, and the broader GBS network to ensure globally aligned standards, governance, and activity splits.
- Ensure effective operation of the internal control framework supporting reliable financial reporting.
- Cooperate closely with Global Finance Network, outsourcing providers, legal entities, and auditors.
- Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, simplification, and efficiency gains. Initiate and lead optimization projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support global and local projects, including system implementations, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Anticipate risks, proactively manage changes, and perform escalation management when needed.
- Define, monitor, and steer process performance through KPIs and reporting.
- Preparation and review of financial reports, including Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reporting.
- Coordination with internal and external auditors.
- Support of accounting, finance, and tax-related activities for one or more legal entities.
- Contribution to statutory and management reporting processes.
- Support compliance and financial governance requirements across assigned responsibilities.
- Contribution to financial reporting activities for multiple legal entities.
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Project Management, or Digital topics are considered an advantage.
- Relevant experience in accounting process leadership and financial accounting.
- Experience in leading international process trainings, workshops, and conferences.
- Experience supporting business transformations, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and IT-related finance initiatives.
- At least 2 years of experience in global process steering team (Center of Expertise or similar).
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on and proactive working style.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and make sound decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure.

The minimum gross monthly salary for this role is 15 600 PLN. The final salary will be determined based on objective factors such as professional experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility.
This position is eligible for variable pay components, such as annual or performance-based bonuses, awarded in accordance with the applicable employee group, role scope, and compensation structure.
