R2R Senior Associate in Finance 

Purpose:

As an in-house business consultant, working in cross-functional Team, you will play a critical role in supporting our divisions (Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health and Crop Science) in the area of:

• Cost Accounting: Ensure precise recording and allocation of actual business expenses in line with our group reporting standards and data model.
• Production Accounting & Inventory Valuation: Monitor production costs and guarantee accurate inventory valuations.
• GL & Reporting: Month-end closing activities.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities: 

Cost accounting:

• Monitors data quality, identifying correction requirements and performing adjustments
• Supports assigned LEs closing process - review the closing results and follow up with divisions and functions
• Cooperates with business (Controlling, Sales & Marketing, Production)
• Coordinates and supports the annual budget process

Production Accounting & Inventory Valuation:

• Monitors and analyzes product unit cost at a material level and explain deviations
• Supports the annual process of developing product standard cost
• Supports business (Controlling, Production etc.) for clarification of changes needed for variances of production/process orders and purchase prices
• Supports analysis of the Income Statement in the area of responsibility

GL & Reporting:

• Month-end closing activities
• Reporting
• Posting of necessary adjustments
• Control & monitoring of data correctness incl. account reconciliations

Who You Are: 

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years professional experience in Controlling, Product Costing, Financial Analysis, General Ledger, Asset Management etc.; experience from production company would be an advantage.
• Understanding of cost accounting/managerial accounting rules and their connection with other business processes.
• Understanding of accounting period-end closing.
• Analytical skills – ability to prepare basic financial information.
• Action-oriented way of working with an eye for details.
• Experience in partnering with Business stakeholders (presentation of data, discussion of complex business cases, supporting decision making).
• Ability to effectively collaborate in matrix organization.
• Support decision making within the scope of responsibility (legal entity, country, or country group).
• Experience with SAP (FI, CO), SAP HANA would be an asset.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
• Digital skills: Excel intermediate, entry knowledge of Power BI or relevant tools for analytics and visualization (view, filter and drill down reports and visuals).
• Knowledge of German or other European languages would be an asset.
