Electrical Subject Matter Expert 

JOB PURPOSE:

• • Responsible for overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems and utilities at the site or project. This includes managing power distribution, water, HVAC systems, and other utility services to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations.
  • Lead a team of technicians and contractors, coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless site operations.
  • Co-responsible for Unit’s results and succeeding in technical/site KPIs established for the Unit.
  • Ensures compliance with Safety, Quality and PPS, modeling One PSS principles
  • Ensure effective implementation of ISO 9001 & 14001.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• • Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and emergency power supplies.
  • Monitor and manage site electrical loads to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with Bayer/industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage utilities such as water supply, heating, chilled water, air conditioning (HVAC), compressed air, and other utilities at site.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of utilities across the site.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce utility costs and improve system efficiency.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve issues with electrical systems and utility equipment.
  • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure timely repairs of electrical and utility systems to prevent production delays or safety risks.
  • Monitor and analyze energy consumption across the site to identify inefficiencies.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and technologies to reduce site energy costs.
  • Collaborate on sustainability and renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.) where applicable.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to technicians and contractors for safe ,intime completion of job
  • Coordinates with unit team for better scheduling and allocation of resources for ongoing operations and projects.
  • Plan and manage electrical and utility infrastructure projects including upgrades, expansions, and retrofits.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external vendors to execute projects within budget and on schedule.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide project execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all technical specifications.
  • Ensure effective implementation of Bayer Initiatives and ISO 9001 & 14001

WHO YOU ARE:

Skills

• • Hands-on experience in the installation and maintenance of VFDs, UPS systems, HT and LT switchgears, and DG generators.
  • Knowledge of various control systems (PLC, DCS)
  • Having knowledge on Process & Plant Safety,
  • Machinery Safety, Electrical regulations,
  • Electrical hazardous & Safety, Internal HSE, BBS and ISO
  • Fluent in English communication

Education

• • Degree/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical Supervisor Certificate.

Experience

• • 5 + Years of experience in Installation & maintenance of electrical equipment and Infrastructure in chemical plants
