Nursery Solutions Hub Lead
In this role, you will lead a team of individuals focused on technology development, implementation, and optimization to transform Bayer Global R&D seed production. This hub is focused on ensuring we have the technical talent and are effectively prioritizing projects that deliver on the strategy for a step change in automation, analytics, operations and seed production pipeline optimization.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

Support a team of technical experts as they apply and optimize reproductive biology technology to unlock new capabilities in Breeding seed production and realize efficiency opportunities

Lead process engineers partnering with IT to develop and implement process efficiency gains within the organization. This includes complex supply and demand algorithms that tie to site capability for optimized resource utilization

Support the implementation and optimization of highly automated protected culture systems including new and novel scientific and automation workflows and methodology

Drive for effective resourcing of new protected culture and automation opportunities and make investment recommendations, providing detailed experimental and financial data to support; provide capital spend oversight for major projects.

Consult and resource the development, testing, and implementation of new breeding methods at scale in preparation for deployment to production globally.

Lead a technical talent strategy to ensure the growth and upskilling of current talent and hiring of future employees that will deliver on our future precision breeding ambitions
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:
-
PhD degree with 15+ years of crop technology leadership OR MS degree with 20 years of crop technology leadership experience.

Technical expertise in agronomy, automation, and reproductive biology
-
Minimum of 10+ years experience in developing talent and leading direct and cross-functional teams across geographies and culture
-
Proven track record of successfully leading, developing, and mentoring highly educated, skilled team members in a global environment that reimagine and implement new technology and methodology

Strong communication and collaboration skills
-
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $170-250k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive program (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
