PURPOSE        

The purpose of the Director, Machine Learning & AI is to produce insights, analyses, and models that lead to data-driven actions and decision making.  The position will lead Data Science and Machine Learning initiatives for Radiology North America Commercial Organization, serving as an expert resource to drive analytical maturity and expansion of AI deployment across the region. The role will be pivotal developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions for complex business problems and will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven products and services.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis and Exploration:

• Collect, process, and analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights;

Machine Learning Model Development and Optimization:

• Conceptualize, build, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to address complex business challenges; 
• Apply a wide array of machine learning methods, including supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning;
• Assess model performance, iterate on improvements, and fine-tune algorithms for greater accuracy and efficiency;

MLOps:

• Oversee and execute MLOps best practices, including model deployment, continuous monitoring, and automation;

Data Visualization and Business Intelligence:

• Develop and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards that offer actionable insights to stakeholders;

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional commercial teams, including sales, marketing, and customer facing services;
• Translate complex technical concepts into non-technical terms for a broader audience;
• Drive optimal adoption and utilization of analytical tools across organization;

Stay Current with Industry Trends:

• Keep informed of the latest developments in machine learning, data science, MLOps, and business intelligence;
• Recommend and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree, with major in Data Science, Statistics or related;
• Years of overall full-time work experience;
• Relevant experience ML/AI;
• Several years of experience with Python including data manipulation, visualization, and ML/AI frameworks/libraries;
• Several years of experience with SQL or similar programming;
• Several years of experience with business intelligence and reporting, including the use of data visualization software (Tableau or similar);
• Proven track record of delivering measurable results through advanced analytics solution;.
• Proficiency in understanding how to solve business problems with statistical, AI, and machine learning methods and algorithms;
• Must have demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills to interface with executive, financial, technical, sales, and services stakeholders in all levels of commercial organization;
• Must be able to drive results by effectively and efficiently leading initiatives in a team environment with limited supervision;
• Effective project management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on budget project delivery.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD, in Data Science, Statistics or related;
• 10+ years of overall full-time work experience;
• 5+ years of relevant experience ML/AI;
• 5+ years experience with Python including data manipulation, visualization, and ML/AI frameworks/libraries;
• 5+ years experience with SQL or similar programming;
• 5+ years experience with business intelligence and reporting, including the use of data visualization software (Tableau or similar).
