Software Engineer Co-op 

 
   
   

Bayer Healthcare is currently seeking college or graduate students for a software engineering co-op at the Indianola, PA location. As a member of the software engineering team, you will work closely with the technical teams to design and develop high-quality code exhibiting excellent performance that meets the product requirements. You will work with existing and new products in our Software Engineering Department. As a co-op, you will gain valuable experience in medical device development as well as exposure to a wide range of technologies and business problems. that you will solve using the latest and greatest technologies.

 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Software Engineer Co-op, are to: 

 

  • Design and develop high-quality code exhibiting excellent performance that meets product requirements with a strong focus on scalability, maintainability, and security;
  • Participate in all aspects of the product development life cycle from design to delivery;
  • Work closely with the product managers, infrastructure and development teams to help deliver innovative, world-class solutions;
  • Work in both a desk and laboratory setting to apply a hands-on mindset to solving problems.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Be enrolled in either a Bachelor’s degree or graduate program with an emphasis in Software or Computer Engineering;
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week;
  • Completion of at least sophomore year;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
     

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Laboratory experience;
  • Coursework in medical device development/regulatory affairs;
  • C#, .NET, WPF/WCF/XML/JSON, Java, Python, PHP;
  • Agile Software Development, Scrums;
  • HTML5, JavaScript, Web Development and UI Design, Node.js;
  • REACT, Angular, Vue .js, jQuery, Webix;
  • Database Technologies including SQL, MongodDB, NoSQL, PostgreSQL;
  • Linux, Microsoft Windows Operating systems;
  • Git, Jira, Jenkins, Confluence.
