Principal Production Engineer
Principal Production Engineer for Kansas City, MO to collaborate with plant management and operations personnel daily in analyzing & achieving plant performance goals related to safety, quality, waste and environmental impact minimization, capacity & reliability at agricultural chemical manufacturing facility; provide primary operational & technical day-to-day direction, troubleshooting & process optimization; serve as process knowledgeable person & plant representative for design, construction & implementation of capital projects; mentor junior engineers. Requires Master’s in Chemical Engineering or closely-related field & 6 years of experience in agricultural chemical manufacturing facility process(ing) engineering role(s): developing & presenting project scope, cost estimates, budget & schedule for capital manufacturing projects; reviewing R&D technology research reports to provide input related to manufacturing scale-up; adhering to RCRA hazardous waste regulations, determinations, storage, and codes including communicating spills & leaks, investigating and identifying corrective actions and implementing preventative procedures to prevent future occurrences; creating & maintaining plant operation SOPs, including process descriptions, material & energy balances, P&IDs, operating data collection & retrieval, and PSIs; developing & implementing asset reliability & process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams across manufacturing sites; tracking & managing manufacturing Yield & TPRs using heat and material balances to find solutions to manage cost within budget; leading environmental reporting, digital control system development, and safety management including providing technical knowledge for HAZOP studies and PHAs; applying Six Sigma methodologies for manufacturing process analysis to provide appropriate engineering solutions; using Aspen Plus, Minitab, and Pipe-FLO process modeling software to perform equipment design for instance pump sizing, heat exchanger, and reactor design calculations; and utilizing DeltaV to support manufacturing facility design and optimization. Up to 10% U.S. and/or Int’l travel req’d. Salary Range: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $152,000.00 to $175,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
