Head of Trade Marketing, MY SG 

 
   
   

The Head of Trade Marketing oversees all trade marketing activities, leads in implementation and management of trading policies defined for the Consumer Health business in Malaysia and Brunei.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop and submit the annual trade marketing and promotional plans for key brands and customers in collaboration with the sales and marketing department, and on the basis of analyses, market evaluations, as well as historical trends.
  • Ensure implementation of the trade marketing plan and promotional programs designed to increase in-store brand presence and ultimately sales off-take at trade level. Perform the relevant checks and corrective actions in case of deviations and on the basis of market evolutions.
  • Conduct promotion evaluation to monitor the ROI of trade promotions and measure the effect of in-store activities. If necessary to propose and implement improved mechanics to gain better ROI.
  • Define and submit merchandising policies, and ensure its implementation in alignment and close collaboration with Sales and Marketing team, including the co-ordination of product, price and pack changes.
  • Lead, coach and motivate the trade marketing and merchandiser team. Drive and support the Sales team to execute strong visibility, shelf presence and merchandising position for key brands in the key customers / channels.
  • Manage the trade marketing P&I budget expenses as per the allocation agreed by the management, to achieve maximum returns. Ensure budgets are well maintained, ensure promotional activities and spends are reported in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Conduct regular field visits to critically review execution of trade marketing programs, POSM utilization and promotional activities. Rapport building with key customers to obtain feedback, identify new opportunities, monitor competitors’ activities and implement tactical counter measure campaigns as needed.
  • Country Lead for Global Customer Excellence Elements, working with Global Customer Excellence Team to implement CUEx initiatives.
  • Actively support the Country Division Head on special assignments and projects, as and when required.
  • Ensure that Bayer Corporate Compliance & policies and procedures are enforced within Bayer standards. Responsible for adherence to regulatory requirements and industry code of ethics.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related area. MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in sales / marketing role; with at least 4 years in trade marketing management position in FMCG or Consumer Health industry, preferably with a multinational company.
  • Experience with JDA or similar space planning tool will be an added advantage.
  • Good business acumen and insights. Excellent strategic and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership skills and a strong ability to collaborate, integrate and work effectively with cross-functional team members.
  • Strong sense of achievement, sense of urgency to get things done; with result driven attitude.
  • High level of independence and pro-active approach with focus on adding value to the business.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple project and priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good command of English.
