Data Engineer DA3CH (all genders)
The Data Engineer (all genders) is the driving and responsible force behind the technical integration of new commercial data sources in the pharmaceutical sector (DA3CH) within the framework of a regional data architecture and integration strategy under their ownership, enabling existing and innovative automated data solutions for a broad user base across product and customer teams. This expert role is of great importance to the success of our company, as it enables product teams to achieve their financial KPIs through the technical implementation and harmonization of local data streams within a regional data strategy.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You are responsible for the technical implementation of local and regional data architectures from various data sources (e.g., sales and activity data) to provide harmonized and reusable data models and KPIs at both the country level and across the DA3CH cluster
- You develop sustainable data integration strategies that account for the diverse requirements of individual countries within a shared regional framework
- You work closely with local Data Stewards and Data Scientists to build robust data architectures for analytics, reporting, and AI applications
- Together with global data professionals and external consultants, you develop commercial analytics use cases and end‑to‑end business solutions with clear added value
- You implement automated controls to ensure data quality and thus deliver reliable and accurate data
- You remove technical barriers for data professionals in the DA3CH cluster (Customer Insights & Analytics Manager, Data Scientists, Data Stewards) as well as for product and customer teams, ensuring optimal access to local data sources and efficient use of the commercial data platform
- You communicate technical concepts in an understandable way to stakeholders without an IT background to foster acceptance and drive innovation
- You represent the region in global data integration and data strategy communities and proactively contribute to regional needs
WHO YOU ARE
- Master’s degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or Economics)
- Several years of professional experience (*without specifying exact numbers) in relational database modeling and programming
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, as well as experience with GitHub and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
- Know‑how in modern data engineering tools, ideally Dagster and DBT
- Experience in building efficient data architectures and data pipelines
- Hands‑on experience with data‑warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, as well as in cleansing and integrating heterogeneous data sources
- Preferably experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare environment, including an understanding of commercial sales and activity data (e.g., Veeva CRM, IQVIA)
- High willingness to learn across technical, analytical, and communication areas, as well as fluency in English; German skills are an advantage
