Expert Filtration Technology (all genders) 

 

As an Expert in Filtration Technology (all genders) in the Process Technology Expertise team at Bayer’s Leverkusen site, you will support the development and optimization of filtration, centrifugation, and general solid-liquid separation processes for the production of active ingredients, formulations, and seed processing. Working in interdisciplinary project teams, you will contribute significantly to scale-up activities and technology transfers, applying your expertise in experimental investigations, process analysis, and the evaluation of new separation technologies. You will help shape innovative solutions within Bayer’s global production and R&D network and actively contribute to the future of process engineering.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • As a member of interdisciplinary project teams, you will contribute to scale-up activities and technology transfers at pilot and production scale by analyzing existing datasets, evaluating ongoing production processes, and conducting targeted experimental investigations
  • You will design, plan, and assess lab and pilot-scale experiments to develop and optimize solid-liquid separation processes, and support the analytical characterization of particle and suspension properties as well as filtration and sedimentation behavior under various process conditions
  • You will oversee the maintenance of laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • You will participate in the evaluation of new separation technologies and equipment, contribute to internal knowledge development, and engage in external scientific exchange within academic and industrial networks
  • As part of Bayer’s central Process Technology and Development department, you will work on technical projects across the global production and R&D network of all Bayer divisions

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

  • You hold a Master’s or PhD degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, or a comparable field (PhD preferred)
  • You bring initial professional experience and a solid understanding of process design principles and lab techniques in solid-liquid separation, along with a strong interest in process development
  • You demonstrate a growth-oriented mindset with a willingness to support others and openness to continuous learning
  • You show strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and appreciation for working in diverse, international teams
  • You are motivated to explore new technologies and modern digital tools
  • You exhibit openness to new ideas, viewing change as an opportunity, and enthusiasm for trying new approaches to collaboration within Bayer’s dynamic shared-ownership operating model
  • Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels
  • Your fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) rounds off your profile
