Expert Mixing and Fluid Dynamics (all genders)
To strengthen our Process Technology team, we are looking for an experienced professional with strong expertise in mixing and fluid dynamics. In this role, you will apply modern simulation methods—particularly Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)—to analyze and optimize complex flow and mixing processes in chemical, biotechnological and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Working at the interface of research, development and production, you will contribute to the development of innovative and efficient process solutions.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You assess and optimize chemical, biotechnological and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes using CFD, analytical modeling, and dimensional analysis to improve efficiency and product quality

CFD are performed by you to analyze, scale up, and further develop process technologies, including pre- and post-processing such as CAD, meshing, data analysis, and visualization

You develop, plan, and implement projects in the field of process technology and process development in collaboration with internal and external partners, and supervise students during internships and thesis projects

Acting as a contact partner for researchers, process engineers, and technicians in the field of CFD, you support users within the company and take on the role of key user for CFD software. In addition, you represent the company in technical discussions with software providers and external user groups

You support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects in the field of fluid dynamics, including collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders

Furthermore, you actively contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies, structures, and processes
YOUR PROFILE

You hold a university degree (Master/Diploma) with a PhD in chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, or computational engineering

Several years of experience in the simulation of fluid flows and strong expertise in CFD are part of your background

You include evidence of your achievements in your academic and professional career with your application, supported by the relevant certificates. This also includes publication lists, book contributions, or presentations

You have profound knowledge in modeling energy, momentum, and mass transport phenomena, ideally complemented by experience in experimental fluid dynamics

Programming skills, for example in Python or C++, are part of your skill set

Experience with methods and tools such as FEM, DEM, CFD-DEM, LBM, or OpenFOAM is considered an advantage

You demonstrate strong analytical thinking and enthusiasm for solving complex engineering challenges

A quick ability to familiarize yourself with new topics, combined with initiative and the capability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, is among your strengths

You also possess excellent communication skills and are able to explain complex technical topics in a clear and understandable way

Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken, completes your profile
