Execute and monitor the implementation and compliance of Bayer corporate requirements, programs, and applicable legal regulations related to Safety, Hygiene, Occupational Health, and Environment within plant production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Bayer corporate HSE policies, procedures, programs, and requirements across plant production operations.
- Conduct periodic inspections across site areas to ensure compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental legal requirements.
- Identify workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, unsafe work practices, and unsafe working conditions, and recommend improvement actions.
- Provide HSE coaching and technical guidance to operational teams to strengthen safety awareness, accountability, and compliance.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the local HSE Management System, including safety assessments, HSE performance reporting, and the use of systems such as BAYSIS and Intelex.
- Monitor regulatory compliance and establish action plans and programs to ensure the achievement of HSE objectives.
- Prepare, update, and maintain the applicable legal requirements related to Safety, Hygiene, Occupational Health, and Environment.
- Manage and maintain regulatory documentation, reports, records, environmental indicators, permits, licenses, notices, authorizations, and filings required by government authorities.
- Coordinate regulatory interactions and documentation with authorities including STPS, SEMARNAT, CONAGUA, PROFEPA, Civil Protection, and state and municipal HSE agencies.
- Support the management of annual and industrial operation cards, environmental reports, permits, licenses, and self-management systems required by STPS and PROFEPA.
- Coordinate the completion, renewal, and compliance of Industrial Hygiene measurements, studies, and assessments required by applicable regulations and standards.
- Ensure HSE training and inspections are completed across site operations to support compliance with occupational safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Develop clear and effective training materials to facilitate understanding of HSE rules, procedures, standards, and policies for all employees, contractors, and other individuals working at the plant.
- Deliver theoretical and practical training on HSE procedures and standards applicable to plant operations.
- Lead internal audits, cross-checks, and scheduled inspections to evaluate the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System.
- Monitor and ensure the timely registration of Safety Observations, Behavior-Based Safety activities, non-conformities, incidents, and accidents in established systems.
- Generate, monitor, and analyze plant HSE Key Performance Indicators to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct and support root cause investigations for incidents and accidents, ensuring the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Use local and regional safety trend analysis to improve operational procedures, facility design, equipment use, and material handling practices.
- Create, coordinate, and maintain HSE processes required for external certifications, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Responsible Care, and other applicable standards.
- Supervise the administration, availability, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment for local Plant Operations personnel.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement and cost-saving projects in the areas of Safety, Hygiene, and Environment.
- Actively participate in the deployment and execution of the LATAM Row Crops HSE implementation strategy.
- Promote a proactive HSE culture focused on prevention, compliance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
- University degree or higher in Health, Safety and Environment, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of professional experience in HSE, manufacturing, industrial operations, or a related field.
- Fluent English proficiency.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental regulations applicable to industrial operations.
- Knowledge of HSE Management Systems and external certification standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and facilitate open dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, operational, and highly regulated environment.

- Financial Scope: Contributes to risk and reputation management and supports Bayer’s license to operate.
