Maintenance Technician
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a part of a dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, rotating pre-season maintenance in the summer and repairs during the fall-spring. We work with a variety of machinery and equipment used for production processes and coordinate the repairs and inventory at the sites.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Maintenance Technician, are to:
- Demonstrate the ability and working knowledge to conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment used for harvesting, conditioning, and packaging/treating;
- Responsible for needs assessment and compliance with all applicable hazardous work permits;
- Maintain accurate records for all equipment and facility maintenance activities performed;
- Adhere to Bayer’s Health, Safety & Environmental and quality assurance/quality control standards;
- Support our efforts towards sustainability;
- Help us to continually improve and meet our Bayer goals;
- Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 8,500 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Basic user knowledge of standard computer programs (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, tablets/smart devices);
- Valid drivers’ license (in order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s risk screening for hiring drivers – Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening);
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical;
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs;
- Ability to work: days, nights, rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs require;
- Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate computer skills with experience using asset management software and PLC troubleshooting and programming;
- 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with chemical or row crop manufacturing experience, preferred;
- Problem solving experience;
- Predictive and preventative maintenance experience;
- Electrical experience.
