Regional Access Manager 

 
   
   

Position purpose

He/ she will be responsible for the execution of the market access strategy to secure timely and valuable access of the Bayer compounds in his/her area of responsibility while also assuring availability and reimbursement of the Bayer portfolio over time. He/she will ensure the regions engagement to guarantee the P&R for the new assets and indications. He/she will be responsible to ensure that market access strategies are incorporated in the commercial strategy and that there is adequate value demonstration of our compounds at launch and over time to support market access status in an increasingly challenging environment.

Major tasks and responsibilities of position

• Execute pricing and market access strategies and tactics that maximize access of the current and future Bayer portfolio. Lead and reach out win-win agreements at regional and account level.

• Management of the pricing strategy with the MA CC head and the Pricing & Tender Excellence Lead in the regions and accounts assigned aligned with the Product Teams

• Contribute to the achievement of the national sales objectives of the products by means of the scope of the specific objectives of their territory, through the clinical differentiation of the different brands and of an optimal management of the resources.

• Timely secure access of Bayer compounds at regional and account level in line with the company pricing guidance.  

• Plan and execute the Regional and Key Accounts access plans, within the Customer Teams through B. Management & KA Management, providing innovative solutions through all available channels.

• Provide expert input to Value Access Mgr. into the preparation of health technology assessment/value dossiers/ CEA / BIM required by local authorities for inclusion of Bayer compounds into local reimbursement as well as adapt dossiers and global market access tools / solutions to regional-specific needs in Spain. Work closely with the Product Teams, tender department, to develop a compelling therapeutic area strategy.

• Ensure that all activities comply with regulatory agencies, public policies/guidelines, and with corporate policies and procedures.

• Track performance against agreed KPI metrics for access. 

• Monitoring of competitor´s activities and follow up on market trends

 

Qualifications

(Education, skills, experiences and personal characteristics necessary for success in this position)

 

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge or equivalent:

  • Higher level degree (Pharmacist, Medicine, Biologist, Economics), and / or MBA and / or master’s in public administration and / or Master in Public Health and/or post graduate education in health economics. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or consultancy, specializing in Market Access.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of prescription value channel, payers and their perspective in Spain, as well as trends in Pricing & Reimbursement on a regional and national level.
  • Significant Regional experience within health care industry acquired at biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical companies. 
  • Significant self-experience in preparation and execution of the negotiation with KA within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Strong skills in software programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Fluent Spanish &  English .
