Developing Medical Expert Women Healthcare & Breast Cancer - Central and Southern Italy (m/f/d)
Bayer S.p.A. is looking for a Developing Medical Expert for the Women’s Healthcare area, with expertise also in the oncology field and a strong understanding of the dynamics of Breast Cancer.
The selected candidate will support the launch of a new drug and contribute to the development of integrated medical strategies, leading evidence generation activities and engaging with key national opinion leaders in both women’s health and oncology.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Contribute to the localization of the global medical and brand strategy for WHC, expanding activities within Breast Cancer Units.
- Collaborate in defining and implementing the local medical strategy, translating the medical plan into concrete engagement actions with key opinion leaders, while working within cross-functional teams.
- Co-create multichannel medical campaigns, developing content and strategies to enhance the customer journey.
- Plan and manage medical budgets related to products and oncology projects.
- Lead and align evidence generation activities with medical and brand strategies, including within the oncology field.
- Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and external stakeholders in the women’s health and oncology areas (particularly Breast Cancer), through both individual and group meetings, including hospital meetings.
- Gather insights on unmet clinical needs and share them within cross-functional teams to inform tactical and strategic planning.
- Identify synergies and shared interests between external stakeholders and Bayer, including within Breast Cancer Units.
- Collaborate with clinical trial teams on interventional clinical studies, including feasibility assessments and site initiation visits, also for oncology studies.
- Analyze field data and insights to optimize medical content and adapt evidence generation plans (e.g., national Advisory Boards), including in oncology.
- Continuously update scientific knowledge in the WHC and oncology areas, as well as on competitors, by attending national and international congresses and meetings.
- Define strategic perspectives and gain a deep understanding of Bayer’s commercial strategies and healthcare context.
- Manage Medical Information (MI) requests in compliance with company procedures.
- Review and approve materials and communications related to the therapeutic area/product, providing guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Ensure that all medical activities comply with applicable guidelines, regulations, and standards.
- Provide scientific training to internal partners on product data, therapeutic areas, and local clinical studies, including oncology.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Bayer’s medical programs at national, regional, and local levels, gathering competitive intelligence and developing new materials to engage opinion leaders.
- Serve as the medical content point of contact for global functions.
- Maintain regular contact with global counterparts to ensure alignment of local projects.
- Act as Medical Content Creator, responsible for the modular product content strategy.
- Lead the implementation of projects, symposia, and meetings relevant to opinion leader engagement, including in oncology.
- Support Market Access & Regulatory presentations to hospital committees and decision-makers for reimbursement purposes.
- Lead cross-functional projects related to the therapeutic area/product.
WHO YOU ARE
- Scientific degree (Natural/Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or Medicine).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the medical/pharmaceutical sector in roles such as Medical/Scientific Advisor, Medical Science Liaison, or similar, with proven expertise in oncology, particularly in the breast cancer area.
- Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Business acumen and influencing skills.
- Proven experience presenting to large internal and external audiences on key topics.
- Excellent command of digital tools and openness to digital approaches.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Residence or domicile preferably in Rome, with availability to travel within the Central and Southern Italy territory.
