Bayer Crop Science is a leading agricultural company specializing in innovative crop protection products, seeds, and digital solutions to help farmers sustainably increase productivity.
The Growth Planner is responsible for steering demand generation and sales activities by coordinating the Customer Facing Squad to maximize portfolio value and execute the commercial strategy across the territory.
The position ensures strong customer centricity, promoting integrated solutions, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration to drive performance and sustainable growth.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Secure the achievement of annual targets for assigned direct customers, including net sales, gross profit, Day Sales Outstanding (DSO), forecast accuracy, and OPEX
- Maintain account plans fully aligned with Customer Facing Squad (CFS) Plans and the Unit Commercial Operational Plan, translating national budgets into CFS targets
- Ensure effective implementation of marketing initiatives for relevant customer groups and crops, enabling successful cross-functional execution within the Customer Facing Squad and Unit Squad
- Guarantee forecast accuracy to optimize inventory usage and support proper production planning in close collaboration with the Unit Support Squad
- Implement recovery plans for unexpected product shortages or quality issues
- Maintain detailed and accurate Customer Facing Squad information in the CRM system, including trials and demand creation activities
- Drive efficient and extensive demand creation at the grower and indirect customer level to secure net sales
- Promote DSO values and maintain a compliant, healthy, and safe culture
- Secure achievement of annual targets for the Customer Facing Squad territory, covering net sales, OPEX, gross margin, DSO, market share, and forecast accuracy
- Support Customer Facing Squad members with coaching and training, enabling talent and knowledge flow
- Maintain close and frequent contact with commission agents, monitoring and ensuring their contribution to Squad goals
- Foster shared ownership and responsibility across the Customer Facing Squad to optimize sales performance and adapt to market dynamics
- Champion DSO principles, promoting collaboration, adaptability, operational excellence, and customer-centric outcomes within the Squad
WHO YOU ARE:
- Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Agricolture, Biology or Economics or related field
- At least 5 years of commercial experience
- Leadership and influencing skills with the ability to drive results in complex, cross-functional environments
- Strategic mindset with deep knowledge of the Crop Protection and Seeds industry, customer needs, and competitor products
- Customer-centric approach with proven ability to anticipate needs, negotiate with key accounts, and build long-term relationships
- Strong planning, execution, and demand creation skills, delivering results in multi-functional teams
- Excellent communication, initiative, and results orientation, fostering collaboration and operational excellence
- Residence or domicile in Piemonte or the provinces of Pavia
- Good knowledge of English and Italian mother tongue
